At Shirdi Sai Baba cancer hospital we have supported needy cancer patients and have given them the standard care. The ‘Shirdi Sai Baba cancer care endowment fund’ was established in 2002 with a generous donation from the Shamdasani foundation. The fund was started with a corpus of Rs. 50,00,000, equally contributed by the Shamdasani foundation and the Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE).
Main objectives of the fund are:
- To promote cancer care in the community.
- To extend financial assistance for the treatment of deserving cancer patients at the hospital. (The hospital’s aim will be to achieve complete cure in most patients and some palliation in patients with advanced cancer.)
- To support conducting of camps in rural areas for early detection of cancer.
- To support patients’ house visitation program for counseling and rendering medical care, especially of those who are in advanced stages
To date, more than 950 patients have benefited from the fund. In addition to regular radiotherapy and surgery, some of the poor patients with curable cancers received their entire treatment free of cost.
All this is possible only through generous donations by our patrons.
If you want to support our cause please send your donations by (cheque or demand draft) drawn in favour of ‘MAHE, Manipal’. Manipal University supports your contribution by donating a matching grant to the fund. Donations are 100% exempt from tax under section 80-G of the IT Act, 1961.
