Two candidates are taken up for MDRT every year through the ENAT Manipal University Post graduate entrance exams conducted annually by the
Manipal University during the month of February.
MSc.Radiation Physics
Master of Science in Medical Radiation Physics is a two-year degree programme designed to produce physics post-graduates with specialist skills in Medical Radiation Physics, as applied to Radiotherapy, Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. The students also attend a short term course on Radiation Protection conducted by the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre and on successful completion of the course, receive a Radiation Safety Officer Level III from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board. Manipal University is conducting this course at the centre. Six students are taken up annually for the course, through the entrance examination.
BSc Medical Radiotherapy Technology
The Radiotherapy Technologist forms an integral part of the radiation oncology team, responsible for the accurate delivery of radiotherapy to the cancer patient. With the ever increasing numbers of radiotherapy centers around the country, the need for radiotherapy technology graduates trained in modern technology and with experience of handling newer equipment has never been more, both within the country and abroad. Our center offers BSc. Radiotherapy technology for candidates who have passed the Pre-University examination conducted by Department of Pre-University education or any recognized state Board in English medium with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. The duration of the course is four years, including one year of internship. The first batch started in August 2009. Four students are taken up for the course every year, on merit basis based on Pre-University scores.
